Re: Suspension Design 104

I'd love to see a full-fledged suspension setup in DCR3D. It would be the first of it's kind and I'd be a very dedicated customer. I have a pretty extensive knowledge in suspension and would be willing to help as much as I could.

Re: Suspension Design 104

A double wishbone setup is described as only that; 2x A-shaped arms. They provide horizontal support and allow controlled camber through the suspension travel, as well as allowing the pivot point to be located far enough away from the spindle that it reduces torsional issues. This game doesn't have ...

Re: Suspension Design 103

The issue that I see with car # 6094 is that the leverage ratios decrease with travel. Unfortunately, this game has a very narrow window for leverage ratios, which sucks. Increasing rate ratios and leverage ratios other than about 1:1 aren't gonna fare well. http://images.off-roadweb.com/features/05...

Suspension Design 103

Leaving off with the previous topic of gull-wing arms, I'll cover how I design my front ends. This may get a bit complex, so I'll design the arms only. You'll have to build them into your chassis. Capture9.PNG It is extremely important that you hit "optimize shock position" once you reach ...

Suspension design 102

Leaving off from the previous topic, you may have tried the car that I halfway built. If so, you may have noticed that the car is pretty hard to handle with a fully upgraded engine. The solution to that is to either move the engine to the front or extend the wheelbase (which I'll focus on). Extendin...

Suspension design 101

I have a pretty long history in ATV cross country racing which lends a lot to my knowledge of suspension design. I'll be as brief and thorough as possible with all of this. The basic idea is of suspension isn't only to soak up bumps and hold the car in place so much as it is to keep the vehicle in a...

Re: In-depth engines

I'd agree that more power would be a nice option, but with the XC style of game that it is, I personally don't see a need for more than what is currently available. The higher level tracks that have jumps well into the higher elevations would be long overshot with 50x the current hp levels. It'd be ...

Re: Drag Racing?

I created a 1500m flat track, but there's no more than a simple heads-up style of racing available.

What I had in mind is a small new area of the game that could be created with nothing more than a leaderboard.

Drag Racing?

Would there by any chance be a way to include a drag racing feature in this game? XC and hillclimbs are great, but drag racing is a nice change. It may be a good addition for those who go with the full version.

Re: Level Editor Suggestion All Versions

I agree with this. I lose the inclination to create a track after a good 15-20 minutes.
