Motors and wheel

Postby LaG_sLaMmEr » Thu Dec 18, 2014 2:01 pm

I have seen some cars with 2 engines linked to the same wheel but somehow I can't build my own.

Is there any trick to do that?

Yes there is. I call it stacked wheels. Check this car out : http://dreamcarracing.com/index.html?carid=278729
There are actually 2 wheels (or more), even though it looks like just 1.

Thanks! I wish stacked wheels were possible is DCR2 though.

Oh dang! I didn't even try that. That sucks, but it's whatever. Even in DCR1 I'd just try it out as a novelty. I haven't seen anything worth racing with more than 2 wheels in DCR1. Any more than 2 wheels, 2 engines seems to slow you down.

Can complete levels and performing well are completely different things. I would have thought more wheels with more engines would equal faster. None of them can keep up with the basic 2 wheel 2 engine in speed. Must be a weight thing. 2 engines are faster than 1, but 4 engines are slower than 2.

I am comparing to speed off the line in Highway to my ghost. My car can keep up off the line, anything over 2 engines 2 wheels is lost before it gets started. Even if I start boosting immediately.

I decided to test this theory in DCR2. Surprisingly, I found that no matter how many wheels and engines you have, the top speed is the same. The only thing that affects top speed is the level upgrade of the engines. The max speed for upgrade level 1 is 4. Here is evidence:
