bouncing car

Postby jjoeclark » Mon Sep 01, 2014 11:39 pm

How can I stop the car from bouncing and losing traction?

I tried 1) air pressure
2) shock stiffnes
3) extending shock
and none seem to work,

How can the bouncing be fixed

post a link to the car.
Generaly, softer suspensions are less bouncy

Make sure that at most one frame piece and at least one spring is connected to the wheel. This will allow the wheel to move and the suspension to do its job.

I have the same problem but I am building a dragster and I messed around with where to put shocks but it weakened to frame to much and it collapsed. here is the link
http://dreamcarracing.com/index.html?carid=332207 . please tell me if u can find a spot the put a shock that doesn't break the whole car.

Here you go:

If you want more power you can stack the wheels in the back. Or, you can put a second engine in the front, but this would make it less realistic. Also, this is a dragster, it needs a wing (unless you are a free user).

I stand by what i said, A softer suspension allows more travel of the wheels to absorb the downward acceleration of the car on landing. However, if the suspension is too soft, it will bottom out causing your car to bounce. Which is why for heavy cars I would suggest a hard suspension. Also, engines that connect to the wheel will affect performance because it makes the wheels absorb the weight of engines on landing, and not the suspension.

This is by me from another post:
I think another problem with the shocks in general is that it seems like the game is artificially preventing the car from bouncing based only on upgrade level. Now, this game isnt a simulator, but to see what I mean, take the default car, fully upgrade it, and make the springs full hardness. Should be pretty bouncy right? Wrong. Besides constant wheelieing, the car takes all jumps well. It seems like a different force is preventing the car from bouncing up on impact, even though it effectively has no suspension, solely because the shock is fully upgraded. This raises the question of what is being upgraded. It seems like its the shock oil being thickened, but you seem to be the expert, so what do you think. I'm probably just overcomplicating the whole thing :P . Really, though, the way the wheel snaps back down almost instantly makes it seem like there is no oil in there at all (but they could be friction style for all I know...)

This is my theory.
